Dog’s name: Trigger
Age: 16
Breed: Rat Terrier
Weight: 24 pounds
Height: 20 inches from floor to top of back
Handicap: Senior, limited vision, no teeth, deaf
History:
Trigger lived as a support dog for an elderly woman until she had to go into assisted
living in 2019. He visits her regularly (except during Covid 19) through a special
program of Top Dog Foundation, his rescue. Trigger was quite ill when he came to us,
suffering from severe dental disease. He is mostly blind, now has no teeth, and is deaf.
But he is VERY HAPPY, loving to go on walks, to work with his new person, and play
every morning. We had to put out a call nationally to find him a home, but one showed
up within 5 minutes of the assisted living facility, and Trigger is now living large with his
new family, loved beyond measure.
Where dog came from: Top Dog Foundation, New Germany MN
Personality traits/comments: Extremely sweet, loves everyone he can meet and
greet. Basically unflappable. Drags his leash when he wants to go for a walk.
